Since High School graduation I attended SUNY @ New Paltz where I recieved my BS in Visual Communicaton. Worked in Publications Dept. on campus and a few print shops in the Ithaca/Trumansburg area after graduating college. Married Wil Ortiz, my college sweetheart, in December 1991 and moved to California shortly after that. Worked as a Cartographic Tech for the US Forest Service and explored the West Coast on every weekend. Rockclimbed in Yosemite, picniced at Crater Lake, hiked among the Redwoods, camped at Death Valley and much more. This was the fabulous 2 years we now refer to as B.C. (before children). We then moved to Rhinelander, Wisconsin where we were blessed with our first child, Alexander. We left the Northwoods about 10 years ago and moved to a small Midwest town less than 2 hours south of Chicago (great city), where we lived for that past 10 years. We bought a house and enjjoyed raising our two great kids (blessed with Becca in 1996). I stayed at home for 6 years to raise our young ones and was very involved with this small intentional community of Stelle, IL. I was a community center manager, director of cooperative school, part of garden coop, cooked community dinners, helped with national solar tours and earth day events and homeschooled my children. After the kids began to attend public school I once again entered the workforce as a Graphic Designer at Riverside HealthCare in Kankakee, IL. Between work, kids, husband, community, coaching girls basketball and church I was a pretty busy woman. However, I just recently quit my job and moved to Monroe, NC! Wil began a new job in April and the family has now joined him in North Carolina busy unpacking and adjusting to the new homestead. Take care and thanks for reading!
