After graduation, I attended and graduated from SUNY Genesco with a BA in Sociology. I returned to Ithaca to “figure out what I want to do next.” I spent 2 yrs working a variety of jobs before being offered the opportunity to teach English in a Kindergarten in Taichung, Taiwan. Before I knew it, I was headed for the adventure of a lifetime. I spent the first year teaching, leaning about Taiwanese culture and language and traveling. Asia is a phenomenal place! The 2nd yr, I became the Principal of the school and hired a woman who ended up becoming my sister-in-law 6 yrs later! I returned to the states in 1993 to persue my masters degree in teaching English as a 2nd language. I ended up at Nazareth College in Rochester. I reconnected with my teacher friend from Taiwan who was originally from Rochester. I met her brother Patrick -- fell in love and married him in 1998. We were blessed with a fantastic son, Rile, born in Jan. 2001. At that time, we had just moved back to Trumansburg. Much to my own surprise, I wanted to raise my children in T-burg. We’ve been here fro 4 yrs now and I am enjoying reconnecting with family, friends and the community.
